Lazy ladies, lax about laying

The Chicken Report
Not much new with the ladies lately. They're laying a little less, now that the days are shorter. We used to have mostly three-egg days, with plenty of 4-egg days and a few two-egg days. Now, two-egg days are the norm, with just a few three-egg days and shockingly, some one-egg days.
We keep threatening them with the stewpot, but it doesn't seem to faze them ;-)
We're not sure if we'll add supplemental light or not. I don't really care if they take a break over the winter, but realistically we'll probably want to have their light on for heat at some point this winter, so maybe we should also use it to slightly extend the day length. I'd be fine with two- to three-egg days. But we'll see.
Anyhoo, they did have an exciting Saturday, with fresh straw and a tasty breakfast supplement of kale and beet greens. They needed the extra fortification for all the moving around and rearranging of straw they had to do.
